Suspended Acoustic Tiles
Ceiling tiles are manufactured to suit a standard suspension grid of 600mm x 600mm and have an overall thickness of 35mm. Two treatments are available which provide Plastercraft tiles with acoustic properties
1. Tiles can be backed with fibreglass acoustic batts and sealed with Kraft paper glued to tile margins.
2. Tiles are sealed with a layer of fibrous plaster cast over the tile during manufacture to increase the sound co-efficient rating through the tile.
A further treatment where quality of appearance is the over-riding requirement is to seal perforations in the tiles with a skim coat of plaster.
